Conventions regulating environmental impact of the offshore oil and gas development and protecting the marine environment
At present, over 70 international conventions and agreements are directly concerned with protecting the marine environment. However, none of them is specially devoted to regulating offshore oil and gas development exclusively. In practice, these problems are solved either at the national level or within the framework of international conventions. The latter include:
